Each fall, up to 150 motivated and highly qualified entering freshmen can be admitted to UIC with admission guaranteed to one of the following professional or graduate programs if undergraduate course and performance criteria are met:

Applying to the Program
Applicants to the PhD program in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics should through the GEMS application process. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SELECT BIOCHEMISTRY & MOLECULAR GENETICS AS YOUR FIRST PREFERENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION INTO OUR PROGRAM. If paying by check, please ensure that the check is made our to UIC. Please remember UIC admission office will hold applications up to 45 days to await receipt of the fee. If the fee is not received within 45 days or by the application deadline (whichever comes first) the application will be cancelled.
